Our Story
Watchmaking in the UK was once a major industry, but sadly much of it has been lost through time. More recently, a number of British watch micro-brands have been established, which is excellent news. However, if you scratch the surface, you’ll find that many of these brands are simply assembling watches using parts imported from overseas, mostly from the Far East, which we feel misses the mark of true British craftsmanship. This is not how we like to do things at DAWSEY; when we say our watches are made in Britain, they really are.
At our own watchworks near the market town of Marlborough, in the county of Wiltshire, in the South West of England, we manufacture as many parts for our watches as possible by ourselves, starting from billets of raw material all the way through to the final product. For the few parts we don’t currently make ourselves, we always source from trusted UK-based suppliers. From start to finish, every DAWSEY watch is crafted with care, attention, and a commitment to doing things the right way - by keeping British watchmaking alive.
